I turned the seat around to face forward at 1 because he was doing this all the time and it wasnt safe for him or me. His much better now! I offer snacks on longer trips too

He might be bored! Try giving him a book or toy. My boys have at least one toy for each hand and a snack 😂 and (usually) they are good!

My 17 month old does the same exact thing for me and not so much my husband😭 I have to hold my hand on his car seat as soon as I let go he bawls

So i usually give them a small soft toy we have a bunny, a bear and a crab in rotation on duty hahaha

I saw a post about this recently. Apparently it’s their way of decompressing and they usually unleash it on their safe person. It doesn’t mean they had a bad day but just that the days are a lot and when they’re with their comfort person they release their feelings but because they can’t communicate well it’s by crying.

My baby associates me with food (milk) and now every time he sees me he cries and wants a snack. Maybe try a snack before the car ride?
