@theoregonian: Two Bend couples had back-to-back encounters with this young wolf Sunday evening along Cascade Lakes Highway. He lingered near their vehicles, trotted down the highway and was nearly struck by a passing truck. ODFW identified him as OR-213, a 16-month-old male that recently left the Indigo Pack near Diamond Lake. His search for a mate and territory will be the most dangerous mission of his life — and that’s after he outlived all his siblings while growing up in the pack. OR-213 has already traveled hundreds of miles. Within 30 hours of these encounters, he was another 50 miles away.
