I admire your empathy, but sometimes, and this is a hard pill I've had to swallow, some people, no matter how nice you are to them, will always look down on you. I try to have empathy for lots of people, but when people preach of harm and death to other people, I cannot have empathy for them.. My friends and family have been put in harm's way because of these people and I will never stop defending them.

I still feel more empathy and care for my bully than i do for myself, this is a great mindset that you mentioned but just to make ppl aware that if you take it too far you will lose yourself and live for others, this is the best mindset though, just have balance and dont lose yourself in the process please please

I always try to remember how frustrating it must be to live an angry/defensive life and try to be someone who shows people that not everything needs to be met with aggression, confusion & anger go together too often

I think that's the whole point of empathy is that you feel for people who may not like you or your ideas or your way of life and so on.....it's putting yourself in their shoes and understanding what they're going through..shouldn't matter whether you agree with their "lifestyle" for example it's just an understanding of their emotional existence and and understanding of the pain that they feel....sadly this world is laking empathy and that truly saddens me

I’m no longer a Christian, but I have photographic memory when it comes to books I’ve read one of the parables of Jesus tells, one of the audience members asks how many times should we forgive them? 7 times. Jesus answers try 77×7 and if you count lying as a sin as stated in the Bible, that’s way more than Jesus is requirement

The wealthy people that walked on by were the same people that made the laws saying helping this person was not necessary. That working on the Sabbath was a sin. They created the system that absolve the most responsibility. Ironic that so many Christians miss the point of their own parables

One part of the Good Samaritan story is also about how the people who ignored the man in need were types of people who were bound by certain codes to avoid the man (something to do with ritual purity). The Samaritan is not bound by the same codes, or at least would be understood by the audience of the story as likely to flout them. Because he is either not trapped by those codes or unwilling to be trapped by those codes he is able to do the good thing. And the point I mean by bringing this up is that we too can be not bound by the code that demands we do not do the good thing. We do not have to live by a selfish creed that can only justify doing the right thing if the recipient in our minds earns it by behaving a certain way, thinking or looking a certain way. I do not want to be bound by the codes of hate, distrust and ungenerosity. I want to stand for the right thing, to stand for love. Just like you advocate.

what I don't get is, why didn't the night king just bypass winterfell 🤔 were the werewood trees enchanted that prevented the walkers from moving south? if so, why did the tv version do the dirty on winterfell, book winterfell was massive and imposing. The weird world we live in. how hard is to recreate a castle on tv, too much money on dragons

well that’s elective empathy, you never were an empathetic person to begin with if you don’t feel empathy for all. It’s not a bad trait, we cannot control the fact we are empathetics. Even if it’s a horrible person who deserves worse, you just can’t help but feel empathy.
