So this is pretty normal for the Military. The individual will be put on Restrictions and Su-side Watch until it is deemed that individual isn't going to harm themselves or others. it's like 45 days of "punishment" but all it is is that person is gonna be watched like a hawk.

This is nothing new, it happens a lot more often than you think. It’s just that no one pays attention to it. People get punished for it because they put the entire crew of the aircraft carrier at risk when the ship has to perform man overboard maneuvers.
