One way to learn and write confidently in American English is to spell words correctly (whether it be texting, emailing or writing words down)… refrain from often using slang words or abbreviations or initialisms (acronyms… “ngl,” “rn,”). It will help to keep your language/vocabulary accurate 😃. I’ve noticed more and more young adults write exactly how they text. Grammar and correct spelling skills aren’t maintained as they used to be (…just my personal opinion). And don’t worry about your enunciating our American English words. So many of our words have Spanish, French and other European/South American/Asian originations so we’re definitely a melting pot society 😃 …. mastering the correct dialect/pronunciation is a challenge for us all! You’re very blessed to know/speak two languages too. It’s a fantastic gift to pass along to your daughter.

You’re doing great! Being able to speak more than one language is a huge accomplishment. And English is not the easiest language to learn. Speaking is the best way to improve your skills. Try to not let others make you feel insecure. Their behavior says so much more about them than you.

A good way to learn is watch tv shows! not kid shows, but like dramas and tv series to see how conversations go
