Confusion is a big piece of the abuse, they do and say confusing things on purpose to make you think you can’t trust your perception of reality so you just go along with whatever they say without questioning anything. They also rationalize, the reason narcissist abuse people so badly is because they genuinely believe the people they’re abusing, deserve it. That’s how they rationalize their behavior and how they move through the shame of what they do to people

I was with the most abusive person Ive ever met in my life but they thrive socially and within there circle. I inherently believe i deserved nearly dying. I cant explain it in any other way how i was the receiver of such horrors but the can be the most loyal and generous person to their people. And im not talking about superficial relationships
