Never seen beans put in after it’s done. Does that change the way the rice cooks cause I always mix mine altogether then I put foil on the pan and then the lid.

I put my gandules in when I add the sazon and other spices so they can soak up some of that flavor and cook a lil bit. I don't add bay leaves but everyone cooks differently and that rice looks fluffy and has the right color. Buen provecho.
