if you're a neurodivergent person who likes working with kids being a gymnastics coach could be a good fit, but it definitely won't pay as well as these jobs. consistent weekly schedule, clear rules on how things should look, variety because kids will always be different and changing, soooo many skills to learn, and being physically active and stimulated

i feel so torn bc I am *not* a blue collar girl. those poor hvac techs climb high, low, work on outside units in the 100 degree heat, etc. most blue collar is so physically demanding and miserable. Im also a hypochondriac so any type of patient facing health care is a terrible idea 😅 I don't have the money or extended time for schooling since I'm already a mom with bills.

Somatics too, a reiki or reflexology certificate is usually less than a year, massage therapy takes a year, median salary for massage therapists is just shy of $60k

studying somehow peaks my interest, like its super challenging for me to achieve high grades and get into competitive positions so my adhd peaks wonderfully. im in RN school and currently working as a float CNA so I experience different tasks and departments mostly every shift (i feel no boredom at all!). i love how my adhd opens so much many opportunities for me 🥹

If you're near a major hospital, careers like ED techs (or CNA/nurse aides) generally don't require a degree. If you have a little time for training, medical lab tech (1, 2, or 4 year programs) or imaging techs (2 year programs) are great jobs. If you like repetitive tasks, sterile processing might be a good fit (and doesn't require a degree). Group homes usually don't require degrees- they are a good stepping stone but not long term as they often lead to burnout.

any of the trades that require you to sweat a lot won't be good for neurodivergents. balancing your body's homeostasis will be a challenge
