I get that you’re saying the tip is standard in the industry. But $7,000 minimum total tip ($1,000 per person) is a significant cost. I am a generous tipper. But if I was staying at a resort all of the tips I give would never add up to 20% of my entire stay cost. And for the record I tip housekeeping, bell staff, concierge, and food and beverage.

cheaper than hotels but the gratuity kills it. Just pay your staff and charge appropriate fees

We do this without the staff. You really just need a captain for a few years then you can get your boating license & it’s like 10k to rent the boat for a week total & can fit 8 ppl. Provisions delivered at dock to start & then grocery shopping for breakfast/lunch & eat our for dinner. So much better

You never say it’s cheap or affordable for everyone. You help give the perspective of what you’re getting for that money. This is for the people who would stay at the baller Hiltons or a Waldorf Astoria/Four Seasons hype hotel and are already comfortable spending $500-1500 night for a HOTEL room. I still can’t afford this but in comparison for a hotel room, or a cruise ship it’s an awesome vacation experience

It’s not even close to all inclusive. Water taxi transfers at $3k roundtrip, 7k in gratuity plus at least $200 pp/pd on land when you visit bars and restaurants. Its ~13k comfortably for this type of trip per couple plus flights

We did a week in Croatia last Summer on. 50” Lagoon, family of 7. It was an incredible trip, would love to do the BVI at some point. Yeah there is an element of sticker shock when it comes to these trips but its 100% worth it. There is a slight element of roughing it as you cant take 20 min showers and the toilets can be pretty funky but come on and live a little, the experience is amazing
