Peter walked because Jesus commanded it but said to "keep your eyes on me" and when he turned away he did immediately sink. There's a deep meaning and in this moment of yes faith, but of obedience, and understanding we are nothing without his guidance.

Sometimes, there are things in the Bible that sound so normal to us simply because we already know how the story ends. 😂 Imagine being Peter and hearing, “Come.” Then you actually step out of a boat and start walking on water. 😭 At some point, fear would definitely hit because THIS IS NOT NORMAL! Even Jesus saying, “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you” (John 6:53) sounds wild when you pause and imagine hearing it for the first time. 😭 We sometimes read these stories with the advantage of hindsight, so the miraculous starts feeling ordinary. But imagine actually being there. Peter walking on water was CRAZY. His faith didn’t shake over something small. Man was literally doing what humans cannot do. 😂 Maybe sometimes we need to stop reading the Bible like a story we already know and start imagining what it must have felt like to actually experience it. 🤍🔥
