Fruit Cake gave you a Book of Virtues/Clear Rune wisp tear that also had piercing from Push Pin. Clear Rune wisp tears have a chance to cause enemies to drop runes and soul stones on death, and piercing combined with that and killing a Hive, which spawns flies immediately also killed by the same tear, caused a bunch of runes and soul stones to spawn instead of just the one.

Fruit cake does that. Randomly can spawn a ton of cards/runes when hits/kills enemies. Does a buncha other weird stuff too
