Civil war in the USA would be horrible, i don’t think it will be anywhere near the first one. There would be thousands of smaller factions fighting each other and committing atrocities for control.

If a civil war of this kind happened it wouldn't simply be left vs right like so many think. Hell it won't even be just rural vs urban. The right would be divided by questions like "do we hate israel or not?" or "should we be isolationist and counteract globalism or should we manifest destiny and try to expand america". Whereas the left would be divided by socdems vs stalinist-esque marxists vs liberals. Conservatives and Left wingers think a modern American civil war would be a clean divide between two clear groups but really it would just be Yugoslavia x1000

People here in the US still talk about civil war as if it will be a clear cut two sides war like the one in the 1860s. What Myanmar and several African countries have shown is that modern civil war might be the worst type of conflict. The moment it starts, a country will be forever fractured with no possible way of repairing itself due to all the different factions that will rise up, sometimes even branching off others as the war begins to drag on.

I always say it as “if we balkanized” but deadahh though this is like worse case scenario cause ain’t no coming back from that type of split different religions, ethic groups, probably thousands of small militias and factions running around trying to reunite the country would be hell

Guys, a civil war isn’t going to be like the civil wars of old where there are fixed sides of the same coin. A modern civil war is devastating, there are no fixed sides, only little war lords who want to do things their way, some people will even bring back slavery. It’ll be chaotic, watch Hotel Rwanda if you want an example.

Dude this is why when people talk about civil wars gloating and the likes, they think it’ll be one side vs the other when in reality there’ll be HUNDREDS if not thousands of factions with their own ideologies and beliefs fighting for territory and “their own way of life”
