This is very inaccurate, even straight up wrong. The broken version of the game (the one were the ball falls through the paddles) was an earlier build for IA64 or Itanium, which has nothing to do with x86 or x86_64 (what we use today). Not only was the game later fixed for IA64, it was also ported to regular x64bits CPU, and except for a few rendering issues, the game runs perfectly. You can try this yourself by installing Windows XP x64 on an old pc or in a VM. Claiming that they were no legal issues is also wrong. The game was neither made, or even released by Microsoft, it was developed by cinematronics and released by Maxis instead, and the license had a lot of restrictions. another reason could be that Microsoft thought that the game simply looked dated on Windows Vista and decided to remove it instead of replacing the assets (something that they were probably not allowed to do)

why don't they include Minecraft as part of their operating system now? like just a simplified local only version of the game that comes pre-installed with the operating system. at least this bloatware might actually entertain you for a few hours.

there is a compatibility tab if you go to the options from right click and options. Why they didn't do that to behave like 32b ???
