Liturgical Meaning : This Zema is associated with the feast of Abune Gebre Menfes Kidus and appears specifically as an Angergari (አንገርጋሪ) in the sequence for the saint. The hymn poetically depicts the Seraphim and Cherubim descending from heaven to receive the saint, honoring his holiness and the mighty works God accomplished through him. Liturgically, it celebrates his departure from this world not simply as death, but as his reception among the heavenly hosts, while ultimately glorifying God whose grace made the saint a “worker of mighty deeds.”
