I have learned that when a behavior is happening, watch the parent cause that will tell you almost instantly what is happening

okay but can an autistic child (10) do both. I feel like sometimes it does start out as it. but when I keep my my answer no hit turns into a full down meltdown. he has pda so I understand the nervous system and agree but there will be times before it get there that he starts and he get the item or doesnt have to do the chore and he stops. hes done.

Is it a tantrum or a meltdown when a child with Autism throws a chair in a classroom because they were asked to write their name on the paper. Just so I know how to document that for the next time it happens in my classroom
