The precisely placed blocks create physical barriers that help keep the vehicle from rolling during transportation. Using a pneumatic nail gun, the worker drives fasteners through the lumber and into the wooden container floor. These braces work alongside approved tie-downs or restraints to limit movement as the container accelerates, brakes, changes direction, or experiences motion during handling and transit. Known as blocking and bracing, this type of cargo-securing technique is used to keep heavy loads from shifting inside transport containers.
