The pup death rate at La Jolla Cove is already way too high (7 out of 9 pups die) because people refuse to leave the sea lions alone. Your selfie is not worth stressing them out or contributing to another pup dying. Respect the native wildlife and leave them ALONE. San Diego has so many beaches to go to, you do not need to be at that one.
