Ask to set up a meeting to discuss their research, and in the meeting express interest and how you would like to also be apart of their efforts. In person wins way more frequently in my experience

It actually drives me nuts how professors literally beg students to get involved in research so they can build experience, but then you email every research lab and they're all full. I emailed for 3 years straight and finally got into a lab AFTER I graduated 😫

lowkey the funding is so bad for research rn that a lot of labs can’t afford to “waste” expensive reagents and other products on student research that might not be productive, this is possibly the worst time to be premed 😭
