IR. so in your phones camera cluster it has an IR lens that projects light. your cat can see on this spectrum a little bit. so when the phone projects the "characters movements"...your cat can sense the phones light being projected near them. your phone is using the beam to make sure the character placement makes sense, your cat sees a flash of intense light.

Incase you are wondering what happened, that man holding the camera was actually not supposed to be there in the first place, but since the person who was meant to stop him had already left before the other guy arrived, they had no choice but to continue as if nothing happened. The confusing part is that the person everyone thought caused it was only reacting to what happened earlier, which technically happened later because the first part wasn’t recorded. So when he turned around, he saw the same thing from a different angle and assumed it was the other person’s fault, forgetting that the camera man had already explained it to the person who wasn’t involved. That’s why everybody started running, except the guy standing still, because he already knew what was going to happen after it happened. If you watch carefully, you’ll understand, but only if you don’t focus too much on what actually happened.

The same thing happened with someone who placed a spider inside a glass container, turned on the camera, and placed his finger on the camera screen. The spider, through the glass, reacted.
