Respect isn't just about the title you give to people the best respect you can give to people is your tone you use in speaking with them, You can still call someone Mr and Mrs with disrespectful tone,body language and facial expressions too

There’s nothing wrong with respect, but if I don’t want to be called “Aunty,” I don’t have to be bcuz im old. Personally, I don’t even need my nephews or nieces calling me Aunty. Just bcuz it’s a big deal to u doesn’t mean it has to be a big deal to the rest of us. I will be as old one day, and I’d still want to be called by my first name cuz I hate being addressed with something else. Freedom of choice means u can live by traditions you’re comfortable with, but everyone doesn’t have to live by or believe in everything simply bcuz it was passed down. If someone isn’t comfortable with a tradition, choosing not to follow it isn’t disrespect. it’s a personal choice. Forcing people to follow traditions they don’t believe in just bcuz “that’s how it’s always been done” is giving slavery mentality. Y'all gotta start calling God Mr and not just God cuz WTH

There’s something about this whole situation with the girl calling Tony by his name and suddenly everyone thinks she’s disrespectful. Nobody has the full insight, so let’s not be too quick to judge. If it was the company’s policy and she followed it, what’s the issue? I’ve worked in a tech company where we were told to address everyone by their first name, even the founder. You all are judging as if Mr. Elumelu’s children can’t do the same in their workplace. You think adding “Mr.” is the only sign of respect? It is well.

If you have passed through most banks training schools, they encourage calling everyone on their first name or any other. So they girl that called Tony couldn’t have done it, if she hadn’t heard it from that same organization. Why is everyone doing as if she doesn’t have respect. This is the nonsense people are taught in most of these organizations.
