His wife, Ndey Nyang Njie (“La Diva”), was also a respected singer who continued making music after his passing and helped preserve his legacy. One of Ousou Lion’s meaningful songs was “Fenn Beh Falou,” a message about the dangers of lying and dishonesty. The song encouraged people, especially the younger generation, to reject lies and value truth, honesty and good character. This reflects the deeper role Gambian music has traditionally played not only entertaining people, but also teaching, advising and passing moral values from one generation to another.
