Texas Peace Officer here. If the garage is open and you don’t have a front gate or any barrier, it’s open to the public. Same as the back yard. If the officer never pushed,lifted or pulled on a door it’s legal .

Entering an open garage is the same as Entering someone's house. If an officer enters without permission or without a warrant it is technically a 4th amendment violation.
