5 things I do at 46 to stay lean year-round ⬇️ 1. I lift, but I don’t lift super heavy. I use up to 15 lb weights, mix in bodyweight exercises and lift 2–3x a week. It’s sustainable, I can do it from home, and consistency matters more to me than constantly lifting heavier. 2. I fast—but I’ve found my own rhythm. After 2–3 years of fasting, I know what works for me. I don’t follow the exact same schedule every day, but I stay consistent week to week. It’s helped me recognize hunger, build discipline, appreciate food more and maintain my weight without constantly dieting. 3. I prioritize protein, healthy fats + whole foods. I stopped trying to eat the highest volume for the fewest calories and started choosing nutrient-dense foods that actually satisfy me. I have fewer energy crashes, less digestive discomfort and feel so much better. 4. I stopped letting people make me feel bad for being lean. I used to sense when my weight loss or discipline made someone uncomfortable and I’d self-sabotage. Not anymore. I’m allowed to take care of myself, be disciplined and feel proud of my body without shrinking to make someone else comfortable. 5. I don’t drink alcohol. This is simply what works for me. No alcohol means more energy, fewer empty calories, no late-night food binges, fewer lapses in judgment and no waking up feeling like I need to “start over.” For me it’s all about creating habits I can actually sustain because at 46, I’m done starting over!
