@retro_mehfil: Me at 3 PM: Meri Wafayein Yaad Karoge... Me at 3 AM: Rabba Lakh Lakh Shukar Manawa... Somewhere between wafaa and shukar, the night turns into a full mehfil. TRACK 1 - MERI WAFAYEIN YAAD KAROGE The haunting lines "Meri Wafayein Yaad Karoge" are heard within Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's legendary Qawwali "Ye Jo Halka Halka Saroor Hai." Nusrat Sahab's powerful improvisation and emotional delivery give these verses about loyalty, separation and remembrance a deeply melancholic touch. The archival footage is from a private mehfil at Imperial Hotel, New Street, Birmingham, in 1985, recorded and released by Oriental Star Agencies Limited. & 1987 Oriental Star Agencies Limited.
