If you stand on the knot and give your foot a wiggle it does the same thing. Be careful of fraying the strap/rope though

My dad taught me this trick,you won't always be at the workshop so if you put the knot between your palms and rub them hard it will help too, if they're still too tight you can put it on the ground and use your foot to press and roll the knot out👍🏼
