Arent time remanants basically speedsters that cannot be erased because a paradox would be created. That Thawne was a remanant from a no longer existing timeline since Eddie effectively erased it but Thawne is needed up until that point to ensure that Eddie kills himself

this is actually a really cool theory! i always thought that, cut and dry, a remnant was a speedster from another timeline coming back just before something to make 2 versions of themselves (ie. end of season 2 when, let’s say OG barry, OG barry raced zoom and LOST, so he then ran back in time to right before they lost and met CURRENT barry, OG barry now becoming a “time remnant”, which the speedforce allowed because zoom was basically an enemy of the speedforce, where remnant barry was eventually solved by sacrificing himself to stop the magnitar), but this is a very cool take and i think both can very well be true!

time remnants n timeline remnants are 2 completely things time remnants is when a speedster travels back in time n meet a version of themselves zoom did it barry did it timeline remnants are what harry explained both are different n both have different steps

I think that “Time Remnants” and “Timeline Remnants” are two different things, because when Savitar was created into a time remnant it didn’t directly affect the timeline but when Harry was explaining about Thawne not knowing facts about the team and about Barry, him still being “alive” and not erased because of Eddie is more of a direct timeline effect. The same thing is also noted how when Nora and Barry travel to the past in season 5 to see Thawne, Thawne mistakes Nora’s name for Dawn, meaning since being back he has not experienced the timeline changes yet
