We don’t owe ranchers a monopoly on the beef market as American consumers. Get over yourselves. We import everything else into this economy that we can’t produce enough of domestically. Why is beef different? Why are ranchers special?

How big of an issue is access to land (cost to start an operation) in trying to rebuild the herd? I feel like land is so dang expensive the economics just aren’t there for people to break into growing beef.
