Snake is actually wrong (in part) cuz after operation snake eater Big boss was used as propaganda for people to join the USA army while Big boss was finding out that the government didn't care about thoose who's been in war, in fact from there it born the outer heaven idea (a place for soldiers) so Big Boss was already made a "Hero" back then, I said in part cuz Solid met the version of Big Boss who was in fact a War criminal: taking war's orphans to make them soldiers and creating others war's orphans (Metal gear 2 solid snake)
