Here's what kills me... Umps should never say it was not a ball. Say a ball was not observed or something like that. To say definitely it was not a balk and then change after the game just ruins credibility...

I think the whole system sucks. Did he break his normal routine? Yes. But he didn’t step off. That back foot never moved. And this whole idea of having to identify if you’re going from the windup or the stretch dumbs down the game.
