Sometimes people ask me why I spend time making these little films when my shelves are often empty. The answer is that these videos were never a commercial or just about the finished piece. They're another form of my art. I love taking you along as a little story unfolds, seeing the beautiful process of ceramics and being transported elsewhere for 30 seconds where you can take a deep breath and relax a bit. A story about how nature’s beauty is in fleeting moments, a version of that beauty captured in clay forever like an artful fossil. Nothing makes me happier than hearing that one of my videos helped someone slow down for a few quiet moments, brought a smile after a difficult day, or inspired them to create something with their own hands. That kind of connection means more to me than I can put into words. If these little moving stories can transport you somewhere peaceful for just a minute, then they've already done exactly what I hoped they would. ❤️ This jewelry dish began with fennel flowers from my garden. I pressed each flower into soft clay to capture every delicate detail. The real fennel flowers were of course yellow, but I decided to reimagine them as a soft purple, purple fennel flowers in a fairy garden somewhere. Why not- next time they can be yellow, maybe pink, maybe rainbow. I love letting my imagination flow- trying different colors and just seeing what happens. I love how the rim, finished with genuine 22kt gold that's fired in the kiln, gently frames the flowers and catches the light. I'd love to know... when you watch these videos, what connects you? Is it the flowers, the pottery process, a mini meditation, the tiny stories, or something else. Wishing you a lovely relaxed day
