Husband is a sabatour , so hubby can lower your status below him . put you both in poverty. It's a type of distruction say no to distruction. consider day care or a baby sitter . Divorce is terrifying however , it's just the unknowns . You need a plan . ( don't tell your husband , plan in secret )

The only way I could even tolerate hearing this awful story was knowing you would respond in the right way. Divorce is not nearly as bad as what she has been enduring. Life will get so much better!

Yes ask dad for support while you get a divorce. I am a currently going through a divorce and am sometimes scared. Your advice helps me to think one step at a time.

There were no children between me and my now ex husband… but he did all the things her husband did. The only time I had peace was when I walked out in the middle of the night with nothing but the clothes on my back and a pillow, makeup, jewelry. Then he yelled at me for the next 88 days. Then I went 100% no contact. I believe he fought growing up but one day you would have a wife that he could abuse manipulate torture like his father did to his mother. When I didn’t put up with that, and I stood up for myself, he got violently angry. I I wish someone had told me what I’m telling you. LEAVE! Leave now. If he isn’t making your life better, I would not be in the relationship.

I dealt with this. Almost lost my job bc he would just not come home and not let me know he wasn't arriving home soon when I had to go to my night shift. I would find out when it was time to leave and he was not answering his phone. 🤬 He wanted to control my access to money and when I had my own, wanted to destroy it. It will not get better. On the contrary. FILE.

As an RN that worked the night shift for decades, including thru a divorce. I hired an Au pair before we separated, which may sound pretentious, however it was more economically responsible than a sitter. My parents were back up. During divorce, he tried getting the judge to force me to get rid of Au pair as he saw it as a luxury; my attorney then reminded the judge (and my now ex) that he would have to pay more in child support and possibly either alimony or pay for education as my current job had security and higher pay and I would face a dramatic drop in annual revenue to accommodate the kids school schedule. I got the Au pair. They work up to 45 hrs per week, I think it’s 10 hrs on, but that can be split into morning, off while kids in school, then the evenings. 3 days a week was full time and he had them every other weekend while I worked. It can be done!!!

I stood on the diving board way too long before I jumped. Once I did, the relief and peace was immediately and amazing. I was mad I didn't leave before. My worst day now is infinitely better that my best day used to be.

as a side note- do as much as you can to prepare before you mention divorce to him. get pictures & make lists of communal assets. get printout of things that are 'yours' (any financial stuff like a 401k or life insurance policy) and remove his name/access. try to set up a place to go, even if it's just your parents' house. people like your husband don't take kindly to 'losing' and he will try to sabotage you every step of the way.
