@rysiuuu1: A section of a glacier broke off high in the mountains, in the Rasuwa district near the border with Tibet. 🏔️🧊 According to satellite imagery analysis, the fragment was around 0.2 km² in size and slid approximately 1.2 km down the mountainside. When the massive amount of ice crashed into the valley, it accelerated water, rocks, mud, and sediment, creating a wave resembling a gigantic mud-and-water avalanche. 🌊 The mass entered the river and caused the water level to rise rapidly — in some places by as much as 9 meters in just 30 minutes. The water and mud then rushed down the valleys, destroying homes, roads, bridges, power infrastructure, and entire sections of settlements in Nepal.
