I know I have to learn it fully but I cannot stand Java bro. The boilerplate is insane. Like why do I have to write all this extra bs when Python gets straight to the damn point ugh😭

Learning Java helped me understand OOP. Python does do things more straightforward I will say tho

You can not say one language is better than another. Coding is about what language meets the needs best.

Everyone in the comments will point out Java has improved A LOT….. BUT SO HAS PYTHON. I know modern Java really isn’t that bad, but I still don’t understand why anyone would pick it over Kotlin, Python, or even Typescript (for full stack apps)

The correct answer should be : depending on what you’re doing.

There is literally no such thing. No one language is better than the other in a general sense. It entirely depends on what you’re doing.

modern java is good if you have a FP kinda style. shockly java is good only if you squint and make it look like not java

Java is an eloquent pretty language. Python gets the job done. Can be slow at times but the barrier to entry is low. I started on Java so it has a soft spot but most of career has been C 🤮 and Python 🥰
