I was with the FAA and part of the investigation. Maintenance Control directed the crew to run the system to different postions trying assess the problem basically turning the crew and passengers into test pilots. The FAA Regional Manager at the time sweep the airlines previous violations under the rug then threw he new Principle Maintenance Inspector under the bus. The epitome of government corruption.
