I tell every man who wants to date me "no" about something before the first date. no to that restaurant. no that day/time won't work for me. just pick any one thing and say no. see how they handle it. a large percentage of them reply defensively, either subtly or loudly, and that is the red flag I was fishing for, so then I block them and move on. a small rejection or me setting a boundary would never make a secure, healthy man feel defensive.

I was in an active DV situation during the time Gabby was reported missing and later found killed. Her story was instrumental in pushing me to escape that situation, and I am in a happy healthy safe life now. It’s cruel and unfair that she doesn’t get the same ending, but she truly helped save my life.

Trying to get too deep. There’s no reason to be sharing deeply personal info in the first month, etc… and if you say you don’t want to talk about something they are trying to ask you about, if they pressure you more.. even bigger 🚩. It’s trying to find out how to manipulate you, and basically get “dirt” on you to use against you later.

i was hanging out with a guy at his house and he “jokingly” put a pillow over my face while i was laying on my back. it was a relatively small act but in that moment i thought “this is a man that could kill me.” that was the last time i saw him bc i didn’t need to find out if he would take it further

Critiquing my texts and or if I called a friend or posted a social post before responding to them. Things that can look really small when mixed with love bombing but are gigantic red flags of something that gets much worse.
