I eat meat but I get what you say. I had dogs and cats which I considered my brothers or my daughter, and questioned myself a lot about why I would eat others species. Cut a lot of but still can’t stop.

I think you just hit why I can't talk to people about it. They will say the most psychopathic things. (I am not vegan (I still eat some dairy). I do not defend it and I am trying to get there. I always boost vegan content.) I don't go around joking about baby cows being stolen from their moms so I have milk.

Exactly! For almost 10 years, I was the "nice vegan." I didn't push, I didn't say much, I just wanted to be an example. Do you know how many people in my company have changed? Zero. It was only when I started being less nice that I realized people were embarrassed and knew perfectly well they were doing something wrong.

the joking about them being food under cute videos of them pisses me off so much. how do you watch the sweetest, most innocent little animal just existing and your first instinct is to comment about how they taste or joke about them ending up on your plate?? then somehow we are the insufferable ones for being disgusted by it 😭 there’s such a disturbing lack of empathy for animals and i’ll never understand it.
