2026 Mongol Derby 🇲🇳 I started as 1 of 43 riders from around the world. My journey in the derby was shaped by the different people I rode with, the bonds I created with them all, the different horses and my connection I had with each, the families that took me in along the way, the vastly different terrain I navigated and the challenges that came with that, the animals I encountered, the crew that helped me, the messages of support that came through, the PAIN I felt at different times, the heat throughout the day and the freezing cold at night, the food that was mostly un identifiable, and the finish line where I came over in 6th place. The derby tested every skill I had and even ones I didn’t realise I had. Navigating the terrain on brand new fresh horses whilst trying to stay safe but be fast was a fine art with so much room for error. However, I found myself so intune with myself, the horses, and the land over there that it became second nature. I never had the feeling of giving up, even when the pain was unbearable. So much of the derby I couldn’t capture on camera because some horses were too unpredictable for me to do two things at once, so a lot of the footage shows the good moments. But there were times I couldn’t help but wail out in pain for kilometres to horse stations, or I was so exhausted I just had to put every bit of energy into getting one step closer. Those are the moments I’ll treasure myself because I learnt how much I can push my mind and body to its limit and beyond. In saying that, the videos I got of the highlights are amazing memories and I’m glad I get to share them all with you! Enjoy xx #mongolderby #mongolia #mongoliansteppe
