I wasn’t going to share this because it felt so vulnerable, but if I’m going to keep sharing my little life online, I want to share the hard bits too.. The moments that don’t look cute or put together, the moments that make you feel completely alone. My partner was putting our toddler to bed, and I was sitting with our one-year-old, breastfeeding her for 25 minutes, trying to get her to sleep so we could head out for a rare Valentine’s dinner. Every time I tried to lift her off me, she screamed. So I kept putting her back on, over and over, until she was finally sleepy enough to let go. By the time I could get dressed and dry my hair, it was 7:25pm (5 minutes until our dinner reservation) and honestly, I barely had time to even feel like myself before we had to leave. In that moment, I felt the familiar wave of doubt and guilt. “Should I even go?” “Am I leaving her too soon?” “Why is everything so hard?” Because motherhood is hard. Breastfeeding is hard. I love being a mum and I really do love breastfeeding, but there are moments that are just… exhausting.🥺 We did make it out. Only ten minutes late. And the night was worth it. We laughed, we talked about our children (ofc), we reconnected. Even if it felt like we climbed a mountain just to get out the door, it was time well spent.✨🤍 Motherhood isn’t perfect. It’s messy, it’s raw, it’s full of love and sometimes it’s painfully hard. And that’s okay. Sharing these moments isn’t about looking perfect it’s about being real and feeling less alone 🤍 #breastfeedingmum #motherhoodunfiltered #twounderthree #breastfeedingawareness #honestparenting
