I bet all of their friends and family are speculating they are on this trial too. The biggest trial in the country and your friend in this county is all of a sudden serving jury duty for over a month..

to be fair, i don’t think the judge thought they NEEDED to be sequester at the start of this, because the general public’s thought was “How sad for the mom that she couldn’t get help!” but once Patrick took the stand we ALL started to dig deeper than the police ever did

It’s not even social media access - it’s tv and newspaper. These people are local to the county the crime was committed in, I’m sure it’s in every single tv channel and if they still receive newspaper or see it on display in a gas station or something it’s headline news!

Prior to smart phones my ex was on a double murder trial. He did his best to not read the paper and stop people when they started to tell him anything. But even then it was hard. Imagine now!

if i were a juror I wouldn't go online just for fear of seeing more of this trial. they've heard it all firsthand. they weren't able to look away from their phones while watching them talk about the autopsies or the murders. they've been going through it i bet.
