@thebeautydoctrine: Before the dryer. 👀 Some of the damage we blame on our blow dryer actually starts while our hair is still soaking wet. Hair behaves differently when it's wet. Water causes the hair fiber to swell, and wet hair can be more vulnerable to stretching, friction, and mechanical damage. So aggressively rubbing your hair back and forth with a traditional bath towel isn't something I recommend, especially if your hair is curly, fragile, color-treated or becoming finer with age. I want to remove excess water without unnecessarily roughing up the hair fiber. That's why I like a dedicated absorbent hair towel like this one from Kitsch. I wrap my wet hair and let the towel do the work while I'm getting ready. There’s another reason this matters. The more excess water I can remove before reaching for my blow dryer, the less time I may need to spend drying soaking-wet hair with heat. And when you're thinking about maintaining healthy hair long-term, reducing unnecessary friction + repeated heat exposure is a very easy place to start. You don't have to stop blow-drying your hair. You just need to be smarter about everything that happens before the blow dryer. And yes, you can see the final blowout for yourself. 😂 The Kitsch towel I'm using is currently part of the TikTok Shop Back-to-School sale, so I attached it to the video. #TikTokshopbacktoschool #HealthyHair #HairDamage #CurlyHair #HairCareTips
