@abc7chicago: Defense attorney Kevin Reddington began his closing argument by showing the jury two photos - a happy image of the entire Clancy family next to a photo of severely-injured Lindsay Clancy on a hospital bed following her suicide attempt. "How does this - turn into this?" Reddington asked. "Because of the damn medicine and the lousy medical care that she got." He argued that Clancy repeatedly sought help from the medical system, but that she was overmedicated and misdiagnosed. "Lorazepam, sertraline, hydroxyzine, lorazepam, buspirone, lorazepam, busferone, trazodone...It goes on and on and on and on and on," Reddington rattled off to the jury while holding up a list of her prescriptions. "She took the drugs as she was told to take them. She was religious in her obligations to take care of her health."

anyone following and watching the trial daily knows that there is a lot of things not adding up and lack of evidence. no one’s defending a killer but kinda hard to ignore flaws in this case & basically no investigation other than “patrick said” lol

Actually, he demonstrated the gross lack of investigation and evidentiary testing in this case and how they have no actual evidence beyond "patrick said."

Every single Prosecution's witness used the phrase: Patrick said. Including the experts.

She was nonadherent to the meds, would often say she self discontinued them because she didn’t like it and then would demand something else, hence why it was that way. His lack of understanding and attempts at spinning medical care to look like the fault is atrocious

So much evidence was not tested and was ignored. I wonder why?

She didn't even test at a therapeutic level for those meds, so no, it wasn't "the medications". SHE did this.

Saying there was "no investigation other than what Patrick said" completely misinterprets the reality of this trial. The Massachusetts State Police Crime Lab conducted a massive, independent forensic investigation, uncovering her digital diaries, tracking her phone's GPS data, and pulling her clean DNA profiles directly from the scene. The only reason the jury isn't seeing a massive mountain of police photos and forensics is because Lindsay’s own defense team signed a formal legal agreement (a stipulation) admitting she committed the physical acts. Under Massachusetts Rule 14b2, when a defendant formally concedes the physical actions, the law skips past the "who-done-it" police investigation phase entirely. There are no flaws or missing evidence; the trial is 100% about psychiatric doctors determining her sanity, not detectives trying to solve a mystery that both sides have already legally agreed upon.
Also Patrick Clancy’s phone WAS fully seized and extracted by police, and the claim that he refused to cooperate is a complete lie invented by social media creators.

If her husband knew his wife was very ill why didn't he get help for her and for his kids live in nanny they apparently have money he should also be tried for child neglect knowing his wife was mentally ill.

I just watched closings, neither party was particularly convincing to be honest. However, the prosecution was a tad MORE convincing in confirming my belief that Lindsay was suffering extreme mental health issues and likely still is, albeit heavily medicated. Whether we can say she did it, and if she did, whether she was criminally responsible - the facts don’t seem to support either argument.

The prosecution has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Lindsay acted maliciously with intent and sound mind according to the charges. They have not done so, cannot do so, as they did not investigate properly in order to do so or prove otherwise. The state still had an obligation to test and to gather any and all evidences. They did not. There is high reasonable doubt that she could have or would have acted according to the charges. That is what the trial is about. Lindsay pleaded not guilty. Lindsay was informed that she did those things and has no recollection of any of it. Much of the prosecuting witness statements have been, ‘Patrick said’. If the prosecution cannot prove beyond doubt … she cannot be charged according to the law. Now is there evidence that someone else could have orchestrated it all? Yes. Could someone else have done it all? Yes. Even with all of the evidence that points to someone else doing it, let’s say she did in fact do as charged, can she still be found not guilty? Yes. The defense has shown plenty of evidence and counter argument that provides a great deal of reasonable doubt. Guilty as charged? No.
