hiking the Sierra Nevada west ➡️ east on the high sierra trail 🏕️🌱🏔️✨ this was just the most magical 17 mile start to this trail. we woke up at 2 am to drive down to sequoia national park to start our hike, meaning we got a bit of a late start on trail. still managed to make it all the way to our first campsite, and WOW was it worth it!!! This trail crosses the Sierra Nevada mountain range from the west side (sequoia national park) to the eastern sierra (Mount Whitney) through some of the most gorgeous scenery on the planet. No one else showed up to this camp all night, and we had this spot all to ourselves!!! the wildlife here at this lake clearly has been getting fed and was way to comfy around humans. Both the marmots and deer were tormenting us a bit. Please don’t feed the wildlife 😭💕 perfect first day, my legs are already tired!! #sierranevada #backpacking #camping
