@abz6892: Flood in Nepal. Do you worship besides Allah that which can neither benefit you nor harm you? Fie upon you and upon what you worship besides Allah! Will you not then understand?” When we see even the mightiest statues and structures overwhelmed by the forces of nature, it reminds us that nothing created has any power of its own. These are only statues—created by human hands. They cannot hear, see, benefit or harm. Allah alone is Al-Qawiyy, the All-Powerful. He is the Creator of everything, and all power belongs to Him.” #Allah #islamic_media #allahisthemostmerciful #islam #muslim @Abul
The Qur’anic message here is much deeper than simply pointing at a flood and saying, “This is punishment.”
Allah tells us that Ibrahim (AS) challenged his people: “What are these statues to which you are devoted?” When they answered, “We found our forefathers worshipping them,” Ibrahim (AS) replied: “Indeed, you and your forefathers have been in clear error.” (Qur’an 21:52–54)
The Qur’an therefore teaches that tradition does not automatically make a belief true. Allah commands mankind to worship Him alone: “Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him.” (Qur’an 4:36) And Allah reminds us: “Indeed, associating others with Allah is truly a great injustice.” (Qur’an 31:13)
But Muslims must also be careful when disasters occur. We have no revelation telling us that this particular flood in Nepal is Allah’s punishment for idol worship, so we should not make that judgement on Allah’s behalf. The Qur’an teaches that hardship can also be a test: “We test you with evil and with good as a trial, and to Us you will be returned.” (Qur’an 21:35)
So the message should not be one of celebrating another people’s suffering. It should be a reminder to all humanity—including Muslims—to turn sincerely to the One Creator, abandon shirk, reflect upon our own lives and remember our return to Allah.
May Allah protect those suffering, guide all of us to Tawheed and truth, and make every calamity a reason for mankind to reflect rather than a reason for us to mock one another. Ameen

Do not worship idols they cannot hear, help, or save you. Only Allah is the One True God. He hears every prayer, He answers, He is the Creator of all. Turn only to Him.
