White House communications adviser Margo Martin posted a video on X late Wednesday showing Trump receiving Charles Schwab, founder and co-chairman of the Schwab asset management, in the Oval Office along with Roger Penske and several of his drivers. "This is Charles Schwab," Trump said, introducing the 87-year-old billionaire to car racers. "He's not just a company, he's actually an individual! And he made 2.5 billion (dollars) today," he said. TMTG (Trump Media & Technology Group) operates Truth Social, announced plans to expand into financial services with a new fintech brand, Truth.Fi. TMTG placed $250M acquired from stock investments into an investment account to be managed by Charles Schwab, to diversify its cash reserves and offer investment vehicles like ETFs, SMAs and cryptocurrency.  Last year, Trump and his sons established a cryptocurrency-focused firm called World Liberty Financial. More recently, he and former First Lady Melania Trump introduced memecoins. Additionally, in another notable connection between Trump’s circle and the cryptocurrency industry, Chris LaCivita, who serves as co-campaign manager for Trump’s 2024 presidential run, has joined the global advisory board of Coinbase, a major crypto exchange. Charles Schwab contributed $1 million to Trump’s 2017 inaugural fundraising committee. In a coincidence, his 21-year-old granddaughter Samantha Schwab worked for the first Trump administration in the office of legislative affairs.  Fast foward, Samantha Schwab became the deputy chief of staff at the U.S. Dept. of Treasury. The elder Schwab also gave to the inauguration, and given his financial industry ties, he is interested in rolling back financial regulations.
