this reminds me of how every vampire in vampire the masquerade fucking hates Count Dracula because he made himself the most famous vampire ever by commissioning the novel Dracula to be written. and it technically misleads mortals about vampires enough to make it easier for them to hide so its allowed, but he put his full real name in the book as an ego trip.
