looks perfect to me !!!!! as a dancer with thick hair as well, the pins MIGHT be falling out because they're either too small or holding too much hair!!! you could also try braiding the sections to make them flatter; but, the bun is already looking pretty flat!!!

Put hair in a pony, pull half way through the hair tie, then wrap it! You will get a bun that looks like you have the doughnut in the middle

Hairstylist here! Just giving the most friendly advice because I know how much you care bout her beautiful hair (props to you, momma)! Try to limit how often you put her hair up when it’s wet. That is when it’s most prone to snap/break because the hair is most elastic when it’s wet. It could also eventually mess up her perfect curl pattern! 😊💕

U shaped pins are only to hold in place temporarily while styling, to spray hairspray or to get the hair to hold while you move another piece so your supposed to put a normal Bobbi pin in after and remove the u shaped one

It looks so good! My suggestion would be to wrap the hair using 1-2 pins so hold it long enough to put a hair net over. Then you want to use your hands to massage the hair flat, it should feel loose at this point and then you use the pins the way you mentioned using the U shaped pins. You grab hair and flip it under xxx

That bun is literally PERFECT but if you wanna try a different method just to test is you still section it into two and twist the hair but in opposite directions then twist into one tightly and then put it into a bun
