@lanas_archive: just to be clear, I’m not saying every workplace in Japan is like this🥲 This was just MY experience at this restaurant. we were always understaffed, so I was constantly doing multiple people’s jobs, and the management was super passive aggressive. Instead of just telling you what they wanted, you were expected to read the air and somehow know what you were doing wrong. After a while it gets exhausting, especially when you’re already doing your best. #japanworklife #japanlife #summerjobs #japan #japanese
Go work in a western country and retire in Japan. Best way to go.

5 to 11 and no break? The nurses in USA pulling 12 hours no break are praying for you.

i think thats normal if ure still a beginner since they want u to learn. unless uve been working there for the past 6 months to a year lol. you need to survive 3 months in order to be fully independent at work. if u peed in the middle of a busy hour where theres a lot of costumers ofc theyd be pissed off. they cant do anything either ways if u wanted to pee so just tell em u wanted to go and if they complained ignore it. they cant force u. and also 5-11pm is 6hrs. u dont get a break cuz its 6hrs and its a bar. it depends how heavy ur job is but u can only take a break if u work for more than 7hrs. idk why u complaining if u can just ask them to make ur shift shorter.

Legally you don’t get a break for 6 hours of work so be careful choosing places. Also, don’t be afraid ghosting jobs if they’re bad!!

when I was in Japan for school many many years ago, i worked at a bar 8pm to 4am 4 days a week. I would be already drunk by 3am, smell like vodka, walk to the train station, take the first train to school, sleep in my classroom until 9am for my professor to wake me up so that the class could start. I was basically the only employee at that bar. I learned a lot from that job, especially I improved my japanese language like crazy, because I was dealing with basically the same customers every time I was working. they would come, drink and they almost always bought me drinks too, each and everyone of them, and you're supposed to drink and chat with them every time during their stay. and they always talked about the same things. if I didnt understand what they say this week, no worries, they would come back the following week and start the same conversation all over again so I got every chance I needed to improve. lol. I was young and I had a great time. I haven't been drinking for over 10 years now.
