There is a huge difference—they are in a league of their own; the basic model is for simple tasks, while the near-industrial one is for more advanced work.

I have the model above that one, the stellaire xj1, was £7.5k. I also use a very old bernina 830, over 40-50 years old, and a cheap singer £150. The bernina is awesome for all types of sewing and that shows by the fact that at 45 years old ish it still holds a second hand value of around £300. For basic sewing, making scrunchies or little bags etc just the cheapest machine will do just fine. If you are wanting to make clothes or furnishings and large projects etc to a professional standard and you are using it nearly every day then the expensive brother is worth it

Personally I prefer a solid lockstitch if I’m spending that kind of money. Recently bought a juki TL series, it’s about a fourth of the price, but definitely worth it 🤣

Many sewing repair companies have told me that if the mashine has a lot of unnecessary things like touch screen, it means the core has more plastic than metal and its will break more easily overtime. The super cheap ones often jam up because thise also have plasyic where there should be metal... I have been using my 1500€ bernina 12 years every day and it still works like a dream, it doesn't have too many unnecessary stuff and it has a very heavy sturdy metal core.
