Contact Safety 1st and they'll send you a new one. This happened to us on the 17th and we got a new one. BUT after you get the new one DO NOT THROW THE OLD ONE AWAY, report it to NHTSA and they'll force Safety 1st to recall it. Keep the old one just incase NHTSA needs to inspect it.

Not all car seats are made equal I don’t care what anybody says. Some meet the bare bones minimum and safety first is one of them. I hope they replaced your seat, this is so scary
