The true horror here is that Ronald doesn't need to growl or flash a mouthful of razor-sharp teeth, he just uses a soft, breathy, birthday-party voice to coax Georgie closer. He offers him one more McNugget, wrapping up the pitch with the chilling, quiet assurance that Georgie's dad is already down there enjoying a meal. It is a slow, psychological nightmare that completely redefines the term "target demographic." But let’s be honest with ourselves as a society, we sure do love our 20-piece nuggies, even if they come from a storm drain. Sure, the cholesterol might take us out before the clown does, and we still have absolutely no idea what the hell Grimace actually is, but a free nugget is a free nugget.
